What is a shipment packing slip?
A shipment packing slip lists the goods packed for one dispatch, including item descriptions and quantities. Order and shipment references connect those contents to the sale; package counts and carrier references support dispatch and receiving checks.
Connect contents, charges and delivery evidence
The packing slip describes dispatched goods. The invoice records charges. Carrier tracking and recipient acknowledgment help establish delivery. Keep each record linked to the order.

50 trousers: check the quantities and cartons
The Singapore apparel preview references order LA-SO-1204 and shipment LA-SH-0877. Its listed delivery date, 20 October 2026, is sample data. The M and L quantities below expand the preview’s combined 20 + 20 row.
| Variant or total | Quantity | Cartons |
|---|---|---|
| Black / S | 10 pieces | 1 |
| Black / M | 20 pieces | Shared row: 2 |
| Black / L | 20 pieces | With M above |
| Item-row total | 50 pieces | 3 |
| Shipping summary | 24 kg listed weight | 4 |
The fourth carton is unexplained. Reconcile the actual package count and contents before copying this format. The packed-and-checked signature, carrier service, tracking reference and QR code are sample details; they do not verify a real delivery.
Carrier references
Official carrier guidance checked on 11 October 2026. Apply the requirements and services relevant to your own shipment.
UPS: Understanding tracking status
UPS distinguishes label creation from carrier possession, transit and delivery. Check the carrier record before reporting a handover or arrival.
FedEx: Do I need a packing list?
FedEx explains that destination requirements can include both a packing list and a commercial invoice. A packing list helps identify contents for clearance.
FedEx: Accessing proof of delivery
FedEx provides access to proof of delivery through tracking for received and signed-for Express or Ground shipments. Availability depends on the shipment record.
Shipment questions answered
What is a shipment packing slip?
A shipment packing slip lists the goods packed for a particular dispatch. It identifies the shipment and order, describes each item and records quantities shipped. Package counts, carrier details and a tracking reference help the sender and recipient check the delivery.
What should a shipment document include?
Include a unique shipment number, order reference, sender, recipient and delivery address, dispatch date, item descriptions, SKUs or variants, quantities and units. Add carton identifiers, total packages, weight with units, carrier and tracking reference where available. Label an expected delivery date as estimated.
Can I download these shipment templates?
Yes. All ten color designs are downloadable PNG previews with sample Singapore apparel shipment details. They are design references, not editable Word or Excel files. Replace sample details in your own document and check the packed goods before use.
Is a packing slip the same as an invoice?
A packing slip describes the goods in a dispatch. An invoice records charges and payment terms. One order can have several packing slips if it ships in parts. Keep each shipment linked to the relevant order and invoice.
Does a tracking number mean a shipment has been collected?
A tracking number can be assigned before a carrier receives the package. Check the actual carrier status or handover evidence before marking the shipment dispatched. Label created, in transit and delivered represent different events.
How do I record a partial shipment?
Give each dispatch a unique shipment number and reference the original order. Show the quantities in this dispatch separately from earlier dispatches and remaining quantities. Remaining to ship equals ordered quantity minus earlier shipped quantity minus current shipped quantity, assuming no cancellations or order changes.
Does the sample QR code track a real shipment?
The QR code and tracking number belong to the supplied sample design. This page does not offer live carrier tracking. For your own document, use a verified carrier tracking link or an authorized shipment record and test the QR destination before sharing.
Why does the sample show three cartons in rows but four packages?
The two item rows show one carton plus two cartons, while the shipping details show four cartons. The preview does not explain the extra carton. Before dispatch, reconcile the physical package count and carton contents; correct the total or document the additional package rather than copying inconsistent numbers.
Does a packed-and-checked signature prove delivery?
A packing check records a warehouse review before dispatch. It does not confirm customer receipt. Keep carrier handover, delivery status and available proof of delivery as separate records.
Can this packing slip replace international shipping documents?
Treat this preview as an operational packing reference. International shipments may also need a commercial invoice and other documents depending on the destination and goods. Check the carrier and destination requirements for the actual shipment.
