Shipment quantity checker
Check how much of an order remains after this dispatch. Enter quantities for one SKU or variant in the same unit. The checker flags earlier or current shipments that exceed the order.
Remaining to ship: 10 pieces
Cumulative shipped: 70 pieces
Formula and worked example
Cumulative shipped = earlier shipped + shipping now.
Remaining to ship = ordered − earlier shipped − shipping now.
Illustrative example: 80 pieces ordered, 20 shipped earlier and 50 shipping now gives 70 pieces cumulatively shipped and 10 pieces remaining. Put 50 pieces on today’s packing slip. If you enter 61 shipping now, the checker flags the dispatch because only 60 remain before it.
Zero quantities are accepted. Decimal quantities are supported for measured goods such as kilograms; enter whole numbers for indivisible pieces. Do not mix pieces with cartons, combine unrelated SKUs or use negative quantities for returns.
Use the result before dispatch
Reconcile each variant, then create a separate slip for the current shipment. The checker performs arithmetic only; it does not reserve stock, alter an order, track a carrier or verify that goods were received.
Quantity questions
How do I calculate remaining quantity?
For an unchanged order, remaining quantity equals ordered minus earlier shipped minus shipping now. Use the same SKU and unit in all three inputs. For 80 ordered, 20 earlier shipped and 50 shipping now, 10 remain.
What if my dispatch exceeds the remaining balance?
The checker flags an over-shipment instead of silently replacing the result with zero. Verify the order, earlier dispatches and current packed quantity. Record an approved order change before calculating again.
Does this account for returns and cancellations?
No. This checker assumes an unchanged order and non-negative shipment quantities. Reconcile approved cancellations, returns and replacements in your order records first. A returned item is not automatically an unshipped item.
