What Is a Net Profit Calculator?

A net profit calculator helps you calculate the true profitability of your business by walking through each layer of a profit and loss statement. Starting from revenue, it deducts COGS to get gross profit, then operating expenses to get operating profit (EBIT), then interest to get profit before tax (PBT), and finally tax to arrive at net profit. The resulting net profit margin tells you how efficient your business is at converting revenue into actual profit.

How to Use the Net Profit Calculator

1

Step 1 — Enter Revenue & COGS

Input your total revenue (net sales) and cost of goods sold. The calculator instantly shows your gross profit.

2

Step 2 — Enter Operating Expenses & Interest

Add operating expenses (rent, salaries, marketing, admin) and interest expense on any loans.

3

Step 3 — Enter Tax Rate

Enter your applicable corporate or income tax rate. The calculator deducts tax from profit before tax to show net profit and net profit margin.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is net profit?

Net profit is the amount remaining after deducting all expenses — including COGS, operating expenses, interest, and taxes — from total revenue. It is the 'bottom line' of a business.

What is net profit margin?

Net Profit Margin = (Net Profit / Revenue) × 100. It tells you what percentage of every rupee of revenue becomes net profit after all costs.

What is the difference between gross profit and net profit?

Gross Profit = Revenue − COGS. Net Profit further deducts operating expenses, interest, and taxes. Gross profit shows production efficiency; net profit shows overall profitability.

What is EBIT?

EBIT (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes), also called Operating Profit, equals Gross Profit minus Operating Expenses. It measures profitability from core operations before financing costs and taxes.
